Postpartum Depression and AnxietyTherapy In Palm Desert
For New Moms Struggling with Anxiety, Depression, or Overwhelm
Postpartum Support for the Emotional Challenges of New Motherhood
“I love my baby… so why do I feel like I’m falling apart?”
You're not alone. The postpartum period can be raw, disorienting, and far from what you expected.
You might find yourself crying more than anticipated, feeling numb, or missing the person you were before motherhood.
A Space to Breathe, Cry, and Heal
At Haven Wellness Therapy, I offer a safe and supportive space to explore the unfiltered realities of postpartum life.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a mother, and someone who has personally experienced IVF, postpartum mental health challenges, and C-section recovery—I know that healing after birth goes far beyond the physical.
Postpartum Therapy Can Support You With:
Postpartum anxiety, depression, or emotional swings
Birth trauma or unexpected delivery experiences
Identity shifts and feeling disconnected from yourself
Relationship or communication stress
Breastfeeding challenges and body image concerns
Sleep deprivation and exhaustion
Intrusive thoughts or feelings of guilt and shame
Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
In our sessions, you’ll have space to:
✔️ Say the things you're afraid to say out loud
✔️ Reconnect with your identity beyond parenthood
✔️ Process birth trauma and emotional triggers
✔️ Develop practical tools to regulate your emotions and nervous system
✔️ Feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment
You Don’t Have to Be “Okay”
Postpartum doesn't come with a rulebook. Healing doesn’t follow a timeline.
You don’t have to have it all together; you just have to show up. And that is enough.

Hi, I’m Sophie Bain-Tohl (she/her), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, postpartum mom, and founder of Haven Wellness. I help new parents navigate the raw, messy, and beautiful transition into life after birth; whether you’re one week in or one year out. My approach is warm, real, and deeply attuned to the identity shifts and mental load that come with this season.
What to Expect:
In postpartum therapy, you get to come exactly as you are — unshowered, overwhelmed, grieving, in love, touched out, or all of the above. We’ll talk about intrusive thoughts, postpartum anxiety or depression, rage, sleep deprivation, feeding challenges, and the pressure to “bounce back.” This is a space to be honest, supported, and reminded that you’re not alone. -
I show up with warmth, honesty, and zero judgment. I’m not a blank slate kind of therapist — I’ll reflect, ask thoughtful questions, and gently challenge you when it feels supportive. Our work is collaborative, embodied, and paced with care. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start.
